The Labour Party, LP, has reacted to the FCT High Court order which stopped four of its national officers including the Chairman, Julius Abure from parading themselves in such capacity.

The National Secretary of Labour Party, Umar Farouk, in a statement said a counter order was obtained this Wednesday from a Benin High Court by the party’s lawyer, G. C. Igbokwe, SAN, restraining any action that may result to the suspension of any national officer of the party.

The statement quotes the Labour Party lawyer as saying, “Our attention has been drawn to a latter order purportedly from another court of equal jurisdiction restraining my clients. Of course, such order is of no consequence and will have no effect until after the determination of the motion on notice”.

In a telephone chat with ait.live, the National Organising Secretary, Clement Ogechukwu who is also affected by the FCT court order said the legal team of the party will respond to the ex-parte application within the stipulated time.

His own lawyer, Ben Nwosu told ait.live
that the organising secretary, Ogechukwu has never been invited by any court nor the security agencies on any matter of forgery, and there is no basis for such a ruling by the FCT high court.
