Ahead of the 2023 Population Census in Nigeria, the National Population Commission (NPC) in Kwara State says about seven thousand ad-hoc staff have been hired for the exercise across the sixteen local government areas of the state.
The Federal Commissioner in charge of NPC in Kwara State, Abdulrazaq Gidado said this during an interview with ait.live in Ilorin the state capital.
Gidado confirmed the exercise will count people alongside physical structures and social amenities, saying this will help government make accurate and timely socio-economic decisions and interventions.

He however expressed concern that there was a fair amount of ignorance among residents about the forthcoming census which he described as a major challenge facing the Population Commission
