Peter Obi,

The Labour Party has confirmed the arrest, detention and release of its presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, in London.

A statement by the Obi/Datti Media, Peter is already back in Nigeria from the United Kingdom, where he celebrated Easter.

The statement signed by the Head of Media, Diran Onifade said, “Traducers trail Obi to the UK, as the London Immigration said he was being impersonated.”

Diran said Obi was accosted by immigration at the Heathrow Airport in London on April 7, where he queued for the necessary protocols.

Diran said Obi was questioned for a duplication offence, which means someone has been impersonating him in London, and the impersonator could be committing weighty crimes in his name to implicate him.

He said Obi’s telephone line was also bugged when they were possibly looking for information to portray him.

The Labour Party, LP, condemned all forms of attacks on the presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
