Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 5 news cases of coronavirus in the country with rivers state recording its first infection of the global pandemic.
Out of the 5 new cases, 2 are in Lagos state and another 2 in the federal capital territory Abuja.
Returning travellers account for 3 of the 5 confirmed cases while the other two are closed contact of a confirmed case.

This brings the total of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 51 with the infections in 9 of the 36 states of the federation and the federal capital territory.
