Some analysts in Jos, Plateau State, have expressed worry over the resurgence of violent attacks on some communities across the state and other parts of the country, describing them as senseless, calling on the Nigerian government and security agencies to put an end to the attacks.

They also ask those managing the nation’s security to bring perpetrators to justice in order to clear the air on any conspiracy.

Shortly before the 2023 general election, Plateau State and, to a very large extent, other parts of the country witnessed some level of relative peace that contributed to the success of the polls.

But with elections over, the attackers have resumed, wrecking havoc from one community to another, leaving in their wake death and destruction. For these people, the government must show sincerity in addressing the problem so as not to give room for speculations.

They are also concerned that newly elected public office holders are yet to present to Nigerians how they intend to put an end to the increased insecurity in the country.

The effect of this on the country is beginning to have spillovers in other sectors, especially economic and agriculture and so the promises of economic revitalization by the incoming governments would have to be properly addressed
