The Nigerian government says neither public nor private sectors have reason to disregard safety and health regulations at their workplaces
Permanent Secretary of the Labour and Employment ministry, Daju Kachollon said this when he represented the Minister, Chris Ngige at an event in Abuja to mark the World Day of Safety and Health at the workplace
He said a healthy and injury free workforce will enhance economic growth and productivity in the country.
Ahead of the Workers Day celebration on Monday May 1, he encouraged the Nigerian worker to show resilience and support for government’s economic policies.
The International Labour Organisation with the endorsement of the United Nations marks April 27 every year as the World Day of Safety and Health at the workplace.
