The Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU says as a way of expressing solidarity with Nigerians in containing the Coronavirus pandemic, it has put on hold its planned nationwide strike to demand for increase in hazard allowance.

JOHESU National Chairman, Biobelemoye Josiah who also rejected the deployment of Chinese doctors amidst qualified health professionals, was speaking at the donation of thousands of personal protective equipments to the Federal Government.

Apart from the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU that is on strike over IPPIS implementation, the JOHESU has joined Polytechnic lecturers among others to put their planned industrial action on hold over the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic

Not bothered by workplace issues capable of hindering smooth service delivery, the health workers have joined notable individuals, groups and organisations like the Federal School of Medical Laboratory Technology,  Jos to donate thousands of personal protection equipments to the Federal Government.

Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire and the Minister of State for Health, Adeleye Mamora, who recieved the equipment on behalf of the Federal Government promised to do due diligence in the distribution

Meanwhile, JOHESU argues that the country has enough qualified health personnel and professionals who can deliver on the same mission the Chinese medical team has arrived Nigeria to carry out.
