Two farmers have been ambushed and killed by gunmen in Hos Village, on the expressway leading into Jos in Riyom local Government area of Plateau State.
The ambush occurred on Tuesday night, a few metres away from Sector 6 Headquarters of the Special Taskforce Operation Safe Haven, Riyom.

A community leader, Solomon Dalyop, who confirmed the incident to ait.live said they were in their homes when they heard gunshots and on reaching the scene, they discovered the bodies of the farmers
According to Dalyop, the situation which generated tension led to a protest by women who attempted to block the military checkpoint on the road leading in and out of Jos from Riyom.
He said before the attack, an alarm was raised alleging a planned attack by Fulani militia in the area
The Plateau State Police Command is yet to confirm the attack as at the time of filling in this report
