Sultan confirms Ramadan fast begins Friday

President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar II announces the sighting of the lunar moon in Nigeria.

The moon was reportedly sighted Ramadhan fasting begins. Lunar Moon sighted in Katsina State and Gashuwa in Yobe State.

The Sultan who is the spiritual leader of the Muslim faithful in the country in his broadcast says fasting in the Holy Month of Ramadan will commence on Friday.
