The Nigeria Union of Pensioners in the southwest Region has urged the incoming Government of Bola Tinubu to prioritize the welfare of senior citizens in the country.
The Leadership of the union in the region gave the advice in Akure, the Ondo state capital at the weekend while briefing newsmen on the outcome of their zonal meeting attended by the officers from Osun, Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo, and Ondo States.

The pensioners charged President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to evolve policies required to improve the living standard of senior citizens as demonstrated by outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari in the last 8 years.
Speaking on behalf of the retirees, the Zonal Public Relations Officer of the union, Olusegun Abatan, appealed to the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, in some states to defend the interest of pensioners at all times.
