A coalition of Northern Groups has advised the President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not to allow himself to be pitched against any segment of the country through the endorsement of persons for the leadership of the National Assembly.
The spokesperson of the groups, Suleiman Abdulazeez, who made the call during a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, said such actions are anti-democratic and a plot to create more enemies for the president-elect and his team.

The groups also said for the sake of unity and inclusiveness in Nigeria, the contest for the leadership of the National Assembly should be thrown open to allow qualified, capable and credible candidates to participate.
Already, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress has endorsed the candidacy of Godswill Akpabio as president of the Senate and Barau Jibrin as deputy president of the Senate while Tajudeen Abbas was also endorsed for the position of speaker of the House of Representatives.
