All eyes are on 27-year-old Akwa Ibom State-born chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong; known professionally as Hilda Baci; as she cooks non-stop to win the title of the next Guinness World Record holder in a Marathon Cooking contest.

The four-day competition which commenced Thursday, May 11, 2023, in the Lekki area of Lagos State, South-West Nigeria, and is expected to come to an end in the evening of Monday, May 15 will see Chef Hilda Baci’s attempt to cook for 96 hours to break the Guinness World Record as the first person to cook for that long non-stop.

A variety of foods made by the chef in the ongoing “Cook-a-thon” competition is given to people at the venue for free and there are no restrictions to what she can cook.

Chef Hilda Baci seeks to break the record of the current holder of the title; an Indian chef, Lata Tandon who won the Guinness World Record in 2019 for cooking for 87 hours 45 minutes non-stop.
