2nd Niger Bridge

After many decades of expectation, President Muhammadu Buhari, Tuesday made history as he officially commissioned the second Niger Bridge, a major connecting bridge linking the Western and Eastern parts of the country.

Named after the outgoing Nigerian leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, the event took place at the Àsaba, Delta State end of the multi-million Naira bridge.

President Mohammadu Buhari while officially commissioning the second Niger bridge via Zoom, explains that the projects commissioned at the last hours of his eight years administration are symbols of the Federal government’s efforts and commitments to upgrade and expansion of Nigeria’s stock of infrastructure.

He expressed satisfaction that his administration was able to render services to the people of the South East zone, noting that the project will ease the flow of traffic on the busy road connecting the South East and South-South regions of the country.

The construction work on the Second Niger Bridge which kicked off on 10th March 2016 is one of the Five signature projects outlined by the Buhari administration in the South Eastern zone, which is now officially opened for public use.
