Nigeria Security: Army Trains 150 Personnel On Document Security

The Nigerian Army is training 150 officers and soldiers on the proper handling, storage and transmission of classified documents, to avoid issues that could jeopardize its military operations.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, says the workshop is part of a series of personnel training, to enhance their proficiency, in the conduct of operations.

The Nigerian Army Second Quarter Office Management and Document Security Training 2023, highlights the roles of officers and soldiers of formations and units in office management of document security, to confront security challenges.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, whose message to the participants was delivered by the General Officer Commanding, GOC 1 Division, Major General Olufemi Akinjobi, charged them to show commitment to the training.

He noted that some of the security challenges confronting the nation are manifested in the Cyber Space, through various social media handles, which the training will address.

The Army Chief further explained that the training is also to remind and sensitise the officers on security classification, handling, storage and transmission of documents.

A total of 150 officers and soldiers from various formations and units within 1 and 8 Divisions of the Nigerian Army, as well as sister services, and other security agencies, are taking part in the 4-day training.
