Transition Documents: Zamfara Governor-Elect to Demand an Explanation from Predecessor

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed has handed over the Transition Committee Reports to the Governor-elect, Dauda Lawal.

Speaking during the ceremony at the Government House, Gusau, Mohammed who was represented by his deputy, Senator Hassan Nasiha said the documents were compiled by the Transition Committee set up to ensure smooth handing and taking over of government in the State. The documents contained activities of the administration from 2019 to 2023, which will serve as a guide to the incoming administration in the state.

Governor Mohammed also seized the opportunity to call on the Governor-elect to caution his supporters to be law abiding and ensure peace during and after the inauguration ceremony on May 29.

He stressed the need for the people to know that Zamfara State belongs to all of them. He expressed the hope that what happened during the Governorship election results declaration would not repeat itself after the handover of the government to the incoming administration.

Responding, Governor-elect Dauda Lawal described the handing over as a historic event that will continue to remain indelible in his mind.

He assured that he will do whatever it takes to promote and ensure peaceful coexistence among the citizens for the overall good, development, and progress of Zamfara State.

Lawal said, his administration will study the Transition Documents and if there are concerns or issues it will approach the outgoing administration for explanations.
