Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the founder of Daar Communications Plc, owners of African Independent Television (AIT) Raypower, and Faaji Fm, High Chief Aleogho Raymond Dokpesi.
Otu In a statement issued by his media aide, Barrister Ekpeyong Akiba, said the death of the media magnate is a huge loss, not only to Nigeria but the entire Africa Media industry.

The Governor said, “Only last week, Dokpesi sent a powerful delegation led by the Group Managing Director, Tony Akiotu to Congratulate me on my election victory in my Abuja home”.
He described the late Dokpesi as a friend and family of Cross River People who had at various times, contributed to the social, economic, and political development of the state, through his multiple media Channels, AIT and Raypower.
The New Cross River State Governor expressed his Condolences to the immediate family, Daar Communications Plc, and the entire management and staff of Daar for the huge loss.
