In a bid to complement the ongoing air operations to rid the northwest zone of bandits, Chief of the Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar, has deployed additional 60 Air Force Special Forces to Katsina State.

The team received by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations, Air Vice Marshal Charles Ohwo, said they are to join forces with the Operation Hadarin Daji to end banditry in the zone.

The troops are part of the newly graduated Special Forces trained for such operations. Their mission in Katsina State is a short and responsive one to end banditry as quickly as possible.

Air Vice Marshal Ohwo further noted that the forces have been duly briefed on the importance of the assignment urging them to carry it out with all sense of professionalism.

He also said though other joint forces have commenced operations in the past 48 hours, this addition will bring another dimension to the fight against banditry in the northwest zone as a whole.

It could be recalled that similar strategy and forces were also deployed by the Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu, on May 19, for the same purpose.
