Niger State government says it will abide by the directives of the Federal Government on the reopening of schools in Nigeria.
Governor Abubakar Bello gave the assurance in a message to mark this year’s Children’s Day celebration in the state.
Governor Bello charged the children to double their academic efforts in order to meet up with the challenges ahead of them.
He further said that the government’s decision to lockdown schools at this time of Coronavirus pandemic, is to prevent its spread in the state.
The Chief Executive advised the children to make optimal use of the lockdown period to study hard so that they will excel in their academic engagement.

He insisted that they must follow the health workers’ directives which include regular hand washing and the use of the sanitizer, face masks, and social distancing, while at school.
The Governor reminded them on the need to always take precautionary measures at public gatherings to stay safe and remain healthy.
