23 corps members in Katsina and Jigawa States to repeat service year

No fewer than 7 youth corps members out of the 1,529 deployed to Katsina state for the batch b stream 1 2019 will repeat their service year for allegedly absconding from service.

State coordinator, Ahidjo yahaya stated this while monitoring the collection of certificates by the corps members who just completed their mandatory National service.

A statement signed by the public relations officer, Alex obemeta also said 11 other corps members, will have their service year extended for committing various degrees of offences as they contravened the NYSC bye- laws.

Similarly, out of 1,991 batch b stream 1 2019 youth corps members in jigawa state, 16 are to repeat the service year due to abscondment.

NYSC Coordinator in the state, Ibrahim Muhammed who stated this said the affected corps members will be posted to states other than Jigawa state for the repeat of their service year.

In the statement signed by the public relations officer, Emeka ugwu, the Jigawa state governor Badaru abubakar has started construction of perimeter fence at corps members lodges in the state in fulfilment of promises made to the NYSC to ensure the security of corps members.
