The Special Taskforce, “Operation Safe Haven”, has launched a major operation to counter bandits fleeing military onslaught in parts of the Northern.
Tagged “Accord ” , the military action which will last for an initial period of thirty days was launched in Gwantu Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
Communities in southern Kaduna have come under attacks by bandits; fleeing military onslaughts in other states like Zamfara and Katsina.
Briefing officers and men of the Taskforce shortly before deployment, the Commander, Major General Chukwu Emeka Okonkwo said the directive from the Defence Headquarters was to search for, intercept and neutralize bandits fleeing other parts of the country with similar operations.

He charged them to discharge their duties with utmost sense of loyalty and patriotism; asking them to put in their best to protect all law abiding citizens.
