The commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, CP Mohammed Bunu has presented cheques of Twenty-Three Million, Five Hundred and Seventy-Four Thousand, Two Hundred and Nine Naira, Twenty-Four kobo to twenty-one families of deceased officers.
A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Yazid Abunakar said, the cheques issued were part of the Group Life Assurance and Inspector General of Police, IGP, Family Welfare Insurance Scheme of the Force, especially for officers who lost their lives in active service.

The Cp, while presenting the cheques, appreciated the IGP for his kind gesture and also urged the families of the deceased officers to judiciously use the money to take care of their families.
One of the beneficiaries, Abdulrahman Ahmed, on behalf of other beneficiaries, thanked the Inspector General of Police and the Command for the support assuring that the money given to them will be spent wisely.
