The Federal Government through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has laid the foundation for a 200-bed capacity infectious and disease control hospital in Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina State.
When completed, the hospital according to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman, Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha, will strengthen Nigeria’s health care service in the post-COVID-19 era.
Mustapha, who was represented by the Minister of State for Health, Adeleke Mamora, said the project was one of the positive gains of Covid-19.
In his remarks, the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mele Kyari, said the hospital in Katsina is among 12 similar hospitals the NNPC plans to build across the six geopolitical zones.

Earlier, the Katsina State Deputy Governor, Mannir Yakubu, said the hospital which is expected to be completed in the next 18 months, will greatly complement efforts by the State Government to provide quality healthcare services to the people.
