The Flag Officer Commanding the Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral David Adeniran, says the Nigerian Navy will continue to provide a secured environment for people to carry out their lawful economic activities on the maritime corridor.
Represented by his chief staff officer, Rear Admiral Taiye Imam, at the presentation of foods and nonfood items as palliatives, to their host Communities in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, South South Nigeria.
The Flag Officer Commanding, warned that no persons or group should hide under the Covid-19 pandemic to commit maritime crimes.
He assured that the officers and men of the Nigerian Navy are vigilant more than ever in policing the Waterways and its environment.
He described the palliatives as their token support to cushion the effect of Covid-19 in their areas of operations.

Receiving the gifts on behalf of their people, the village heads commended the Navy for its support and promised to give useful and intelligence information that will boost their efforts in protecting the Nation’s wealth.
Navy had also combed the riverine communities in the Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State, to rid them of criminals.
