The Kaduna State Police Command has impounded two trucks loaded with 600 railway sleepers by a gang of vandals at Sanzwan, Zokwa in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Mohammed Jalige, states that the police acted on intelligence information and quickly mobilized to the scene of the crime where the rail sleepers had already been loaded in a DAF truck with registration number DAL 172 YL.
According to the statement, the suspects on sighting the police fled the scene and abandoned the vehicles meant to convey the vandalized items.
The police said no arrest has been made, but it has intensified efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects as investigation is in progress.
