The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Nasarawa State Command, says it will deploy 2,875 Officers and Men of the Command to provide Security during the 2023 Sallah celebration

This is contained in a statement released by the state commandant Abbas Mohammed and made available to journalists by Victor Jerry the public relation officer of the command in Lafia.

The state Commandant tasked NSCDC area Commanders and Divisional Officers to deploy personnel in identified security flash points within their areas to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration in Nasarawa state.

The State Commandant in the statement noted that the deployment is in line with the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s directives to ensure NSCDC officers are on the ground for a hitch-free Sallah celebration across the states.

Mohammed assured residents and travellers of a peaceful Sallah celebration, as adequate measures have already been put in place.

He mandated all formations within the Command to engage community stakeholders with a view to gathering credible information while also carrying out surveillance before, during and after the celebration to check criminal activities.
