Subsidy Removal: Reps Speaker Abbass Pleads For Patience, Says Economic Pains Will be Over Soon

The Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, wants Nigerians to be a little patient with the new government in power, saying the economic pains and sufferings being faced as a result of the fuel subsidy removal will soon turn to prosperity.

Abbas spoke in Ikwo, Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria on Sunday, during the election Victory Thanksgiving service of the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Chinedu Ogah.

The event also saw the distribution of palliatives to Ogah’s constituents, apparently to cushion the effects of the current economic hardships.

The Speaker who was represented by the lawmaker representing Isu/Njaba/Nkwerre/Nwangele Federal constituency of Imo State, Ugonna Ozuruigbo, told Journalists that the pains citizens are going through now were unavoidable in order to usher in a better future for the country.

He notes that hope is on the rise, as reports indicate that a downward adjustment of the pump price of fuel is imminent.

Representative Ogah assures the people that he would continue to provide quality representation and consolidate on the gains of past experiences in legislative duties.
