Edo State

The Edo State Government has announced the recovery and discharge of nineteen more COVID-19 patients who tested negative for the virus and were cleared from the state’s treatment centres to reunite with the society.

This brings the total number of discharged persons in the state to one hundred and forty seven.

Twenty seven patients have however died from the disease in the state.

Governor Godwin Obaseki who disclosed this in a statement, commended the show of uncommon commitment by the health workers and other staff in managing the spread of the virus across various communities.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Patrick Okundia, who decried the alarming rate of community spread of the virus, said the state government will continue to intensify efforts to contain the pandemic and protect the Edo people.
