NAF changes training approach to address national security challenges

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, says it deliberately changed its training approach to meet the expectations of Nigerians in delivering effective air power to address national security challenges.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Hassan Abubakar, said this during the Passing Out Parade of Basic Military Training Course 43 in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria.

The march of the colours to the parade ground commenced the activities for the Passing Out Parade of Basic Military Training Course 43 of the Nigerian Air Force.

They are made up of 1,123 young airmen and women, who have undergone six months of intensive military training on drills, weapons handling, map reading, service writing, and service orientation.

The parade commenced immediately the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Hassan Abubakar, and the Reviewing Officer arrived at the venue, mounted the saluting dais for the general salute, and inspected the parade, as a tradition of the military.

The Champion Squadron was presented with a banner, and awards were presented to deserving recruits.

The recruits were then marched in slow and transitive marches.

The Chief of the Air Staff charged the new airmen and women to always be at their professional best.

He noted that the Nigerian Air Force leverages technology to achieve its tasks; hence, it must strive to be innovative and proficient, to ensure the service remains at its optimal performance.

The Air Chief also noted that the Air Force is involved in several operations to curtail insecurity, and the new airmen and women must be combat-ready, to defend national integrity.

The Nigerian Air Force also assured that it will continue to operate a professional service, that is properly structured and adequately trained, to meet Nigeria’s National Security demands.
