Nigeria’s Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, says the Federal Government is not in a hurry to resume train operations due to the dangers associated with COVID-19.

Amaechi made this remark on his verified Twitter handle over the weekend.

He stated that when the operations eventually resume, all health and safety protocols will be observed and passengers who fail to comply will not be allowed.

He noted that trains will not move if passengers refuse to adhere to the guidelines.

Amaechi urged Nigerians to be upbeat and optimistic that the virus will be overcome and normal activities return, in the nearest future.
