Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji deployed at Foward Operating Base Gwashi in Zamfara State, North-West Nigeria while carrying out routine patrol and providing protection for farmers on their farmlands have rescued nine hostages who were abducted by terrorists.
The troops acted on a distress call on terrorists abduction activities at Mailere village under Gwashi District in Bukuyyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
On getting the vital information, the troops mobilised swiftly to the scene of the incident, and contact was made with the terrorists at the entrance of the community.

The troops engaged the terrorists with superior firepower forcing them to flee and abandon nine of their victims who were earlier abducted.
The rescued victims have been successfully reunited with their families amid praises and appreciation to the gallant troops over the feat.
