President Tinubu to unveil initiative for North-West in coming weeks – VP Shettima

Vice President, Kashim Shettima says the President Bola Tinubu administration will in the coming weeks unveil an initiative that will address insurgency and poverty, among other challenges confronting Nigerians especially those living in the northern region.

The Vice President was speaking with journalists on Sunday while on condolence visit to Kano State, North-West Nigeria over the death of elder statesman, Abubakar Imam Galadanci. He says the President is determined to define the meaning and concept of modern governance and is determined to frontally confront in the coming weeks the crisis in the North-West.

Shettima further explained that there can not be a military solution to the crisis in the North-West without addressing the grievances and social exclusion of the people as the root causes of banditry and insurgency in the country.

The Vice President, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, expressed his condolences and prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and to also console the entire Galadanci family.

And from Kano State, the Vice President flew to Katsina State also in North-West Nigeria on another visit to condole renowned businessman, Dahiru Mangal over the demise of his first wife, Aisha Dahiru, who died Saturday evening in Abuja after a brief illness. She has been buried according to Islamic rites.
