Seven children all males were rescued when a storey building housing an orphanage home at Aguda, went up in flames Sunday afternoon.
According to the statement issued by the permanent secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyitolu, the fire which reportedly started from an air conditioning unit in the house located at 7, Wole Madariola street, off Enitan Kusimo Street. Aguda was as a result of power surge which was quickly contained by the emergency responders from spreading any further.

The boys aged between one and seven years he explained were quickly evacuated from the Home and relocated to a safe shelter.
According to the LASEMA boss, no injuries, nor casualties were recorded in the near-fatal incident
