The Dubai police disclosed on Thursday that they recovered the sum of 150 billion Naira in a combined raid on the apartments of Nigeria’s most wanted fraudster, Ramoni Igbalode popularly known as Hushpuppi and his gang in the city.
The operation tagged “Fox Hunt 2” by the police was carried out on June 10, in connection with a $35 Million Covid-19 ventilator fraud. The raid saw about 12 members of the gang arrested.
Several items including 13 luxury cars estimated to be worth over 2.6 billion Naira were recovered from the gang.
According to the police, a total of one million, nine hundred and twenty-six thousand, four hundred (1,926,400) victims have been targeted by the syndicate in a scheme that spanned several months.

All the 12-member gang have remained in police custody since their arrest. Dubai prosecutors said the suspects had given statements but investigations into their alleged fraud would continue for some weeks before they could be charged.
The syndicate were accused of being involved in business email compromise and other forms of Internet fraud.
