YPP beats INEC deadline for Edo Governorship Primaries

The Chairman of the Young Progressives Party, YPP in Edo State, Iyobosa Jones Osagiobare has emerged as the candidate of the party in the upcoming Governorship election in the State slated for September 19, 2020. Iyobosa emerged through an indirect primaries which took place in Benin City, the state capital.

The Governorship primaries of the YPP started with the accreditation of the 36 delegates drawn from the 18 local government areas of the State. Iyobosa who was the sole aspirant of the party, scored 36 votes to be returned as the governorship candidate.

Chairman of the YPP Governorship Primaries Electoral Committee, Omogiate Bright declared Iyobosa the winner of the primaries

In his acceptance speech, Iyobosa assured the delegates that he will unseat the PDP government in the State, through constructive and issue based campaign.

Political parties that want to participate in the September 19 Governorship election have Saturday, June 27 as the last day to conduct their primaries and to resolve all issues arising from the exercise.
