Governor Aminu Masari has urged the Nigerian Army to ensure that the current ongoing operation Sahel Sanity in the Northwest aimed at sweeping bandits terrorizing katsina State and the northwest region from the forests, is thorough.

Governor Masari who stated this when he received the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai at the government house said the military needs more military hardware to match and overpower the bandits.

The Katsina State Chief Executive also told General Buratai that the people are in serious dilemma due to the incessant attacks by the bandits and pledged the continuous support of the Katsina State government to the ongoing war against bandits.

Governor Masari noted that the fulani’s in the forest now measure their wealth and fame in the number of arms and ammunitions acquired instead of herds of cattle they have.

In his response, the Chief of Army staff lieutenant General Tukur Burutai said he was in the state to coordinate and supervise the various army formations and units, ongoing operations in Rugu forests and beyond so as to nip the activities of bandits in the bud.
