The Kwara State governor, Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRasaq has assured the state’s readiness to pilot the Federal Government’s National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) Initiatives, Saying the state has set aside 500 hectares of land at least for now.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with the Executive Secretary, NALDA, Paul Ikonne, in Abuja on Tuesday, the Kwara State Governor said that the pilot program will start in 3 local governments to inspire youths, to go into agriculture as a money spinner, thus creating employment.

On his part, the Executive Secretary of NALDA, Prince Ikonne said plans are on the way to establish a cashew processing plant in Kwara state for the North Central Zone to increase food production and ensure that Nigeria does not experience post Covid-19 food crisis.
This programme, Ikone said will be replicated in all the 36 states of the federation.
