Weeks after the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU reached an understanding with government for payment of Covid-19 hazard allowance, the union leaders say they will be forced to shutdown health facilities nationwide should marginalisation of some workers continue in the ongoing payment of the allowances.
JOHESU National Chairman, Biobelemoye Josiah gave the hint during an emergency meeting of the Union in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
JOHESU leadership which used the opportunity to recieve the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS on solidarity visit says should the scheduled meeting with officials of the Federal Ministry of Health on Wednesday fails to correct identified errors in the ongoing payment, health workers will have no choice than to shutdown all facilities, including Covid-19 treatment centres.

JOHESU used the opportunity to ask the Federal Government to pay up owed salaries of health workers since 2018 which is long overdue to allow for sustainable industrial harmony in the sector.
