The salaries and allowances of political appointees in Niger State have been slashed by 30 per cent.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmad Matane, said Governor Abubakar Bello directed that the reduction be effected immediately.
Those affected include the State Governor, his deputy, commissioners, as well as special advisers, among others.
The reduction, according to the Secretary, is a temporary measure, considering the economic situation in the state.
