The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has commissioned 10 locally fabricated mine resistance ambush-protected vehicles, MRAPV, designed and fabricated by the Nigerian army under 2 months.


Lieutenant General Buratai commissioned the vehicles during the flagging off the exercise operation Sahel sanity in continuation of the year 2020 army day celebration at the special Army Super Camp 4 in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Buratai while flagging off the operation whose troops are termed ‘conquerors’, said the essence is to take the last fight to the corridors of the bandits terrorizing parts of Katsina State and the northwest and north-central in general.
He stressed that residents of Katsina and other northwest and north-central region will soon experience an end to banditry and further stated that 20 more fabricated MRAPV would be deployed to compliment other operations, ongoing in the other regions, due to the quality, ruggedness and durability of the vehicles.
Buratai, also pledged logistics and other support to the troops of the Nigerian Army who are involved in the fight against bandits with a promise that the operation will be jointly carried out with other sister security agencies aimed at totally defeating the bandits in the troubled regions.
