As the price of crude oil continues to gain momentum, following the downturn in the world oil market, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) says government’s response in the months ahead will have long-term implications on oil-producing companies and Nigerians in general.
The NUPENG President Williams Akporeha who frowned at the recent increase in the pump price of petrol for the month of July said that the imposition of the lockdowns on the economy in order to contain the coronavirus spread has thrown most families even organizations into economic crisis.

With the liberalization of the sector if properly enforced and monitored, the union says competition will increase and more job will be created.
