An Enugu state magistrate court has remanded a couple Mr Jude Ozougwu and his wife Ijeoma in prison for allegedly brutalising a ten-year-old Nneoma Nnadi with pressing iron and nails.
They were also reported to have inserted grounded red pepper into the girl’s private part and locked her up inside their toilet.
The accused couple, from Aku community in Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu state had inflicted various degrees of injuries on the victim which prompted their arrest by the Enugu state police command.

The couple had blamed each other for the dastardly act while being interrogated by the Enugu state commissioner of police, CP Hamad Abdurrahman.
The case has been adjourned till the 10th of August 2020, while the couple have been taken to the Nsukka correctional center, Nsukka.
