Plans to relocate the popular new road luxurious park by the Kano State Government following the recommendation of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry set up to investigate the alleged kidnapping of nine children have generated mixed reactions.

Operators and passengers who frequent the motor park pleaded with the state government to rescind its decision.

On October 31, 2019, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, set up the Commission of Enquiry, headed by retired Justice Wada Umar to conduct an inquiry into cases of missing children of Kano State from the year 2010 to date.

The key recommendation of the committee is the need to relocate the luxurious buses park at new road for being fingered as the link the kidnappers use.

The recommendation, however, has come under strong criticism by the leadership of the park, operators and passengers insisting the park is never involved in the kidnapping. They pleaded with the state government not to relocate it since it will affect their means of livelihood.

The implementation committee had identified Naibawa, Karfi, and Unguwa Uku motor parks as possible relocation site for the luxurious buses.
