Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has promised the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira to each of the persons affected by the fire that engulfed Yola Market on Monday night.
The Governor who visited the scene of the fire said the gesture is to cushion the effect of hardship the inferno caused.

The fire gutted no fewer than fifteen shops with property worth millions of naira destroyed
Federal and State Firefighters responded quickly and brought the situation under control.
An official of the market described the fire outbreak as ‘mysterious’.
The fire started at about 10pm on Monday when many shop owners were unable to get to the market following a curfew imposed by the state Government as a result of security threats by hoodlums who looted Government property on Sunday.
