Breaking: More states record new Covid-19 infections in Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has reported 499 new Covid-19 infections in 24 states with the total number of confirmed cases in the country now 30,748. This is the highest number of states in recent times to record new cases in 24 hours.

The new Covid-19 infections are reported in Lagos-157; Edo-59; Ondo-56; Oyo-31; Akwa Ibom-22; Borno-21; Plateau-19; Kaduna and Katsina-18 each; Bayelsa and FCT-17 each.

Other states with new infections include Delta-14; Kano-11; Rivers-10; Enugu-8; Ogun-6; Kwara-4; Imo-3; Nasarawa and Osun-2 each; Abia, Ekiti, Niger and Yobe-1 each.

There are 173 Covid-19 patients discharged from treatment centres across Nigeria in one day with the total now 12,546 since the outbreak in the country.

The Covid-19 death toll in Nigeria has risen to 689 following 5 new fatalities in the last 24 hours.
