The Federal Government has approved the 4th evacuation flight for stranded Nigerians in the United States of America. Consequently, an Ethiopian Airlines flight is scheduled to depart Newark Liberty International Airport New Jersey on Tuesday, July 28 by 9:15 am and arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday, July 29 by 1:25 pm local time.
This was made known in a statement issued by the Consulate-General of Nigeria in New York. The statement added that all prospective evacuees duly registered with any of the 3 Nigerian Missions in the USA should purchase their one-way tickets.
In accordance with the Nigerian Presidential Task Force, PTF on COVD-19, all prospective evacuees must present an original Covid-19 negative test result that is dated not more than 14 days from the day of departure at the Airport and undergo 3 temperature checks four hours before departure.
Any intending evacuee without the stipulated test result, or a body temperature above 38 degrees centigrade, or any symptoms suggestive of Covid-19 will not be allowed to check-in. Prospective evacuees are also required to observe other entry screening protocols on arrival.
