Taraba State Government has constituted a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the crises between the Tiv ethnic group and their neighbouring communities in Taraba State.
Governor Darius Ishaku made this known in a broadcast where he highlighted the terms of reference for the Commission.
The Jukun/Tiv crises which started at the border communities in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State has in in less than two years, spilled into five Local Government Areas in Southern and Central Taraba.
Since the crisis began, several peace meetings have been held, with little or no success.
This has prompted the setting up of the Seven Man Commission.
The tasks of the commission include, to examine the causes of the crisis between the Tiv ethnic group and its neighbours.

It is also to identify the sponsors and instigators of the crisis, assess the efficiency of the present security arrangements and recommend solutions.
Justice Kumai Aka’has, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court is to serve as the Chairman.
