Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, has appointed a new Managing Director/Chief Executive.
He is Christopher Ezeafulukwe, the erstwhile MD/CEO of Transcorp Energy.

This follows the immediate resignation of AEDC’s Managing Director Engr. Adeoye Fadeyibi, who assumed office less than two years ago.

He resigned from Eko DisCo on the same position, to take up the post at the height of a power tussles among core investors of AEDC early last year which led to sweeping changes which resulted in the exit of top management of the company including its former Managing Director, Ernest Mupwaya.

An Interim Managing Director of the company Engr. Akinwumi Bada, was appointed, but he did not stay long before also resigning.

The latest resignation of Fadeyibi, may not be unconnected with the latest acquisition of AEDC by Transcorp Power and restructuring exercise expected to take place soon.

A brief made available to staff of the company, seen by ait.live says Fadeyibi’s resignation has been approved by the AEDC Board and Executive Management at an emergency meeting ostensibly prompted by his sudden resignation.

Since the privatisation exercise in 2012, AEDC has had 5 Managing Directors.
The new helmsman. Christopher Ezeafulukwe holds a Bachelor and Masters of Law degrees from the University of Lagos and another Masters degree in Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources Law from the University of Houston, Texas.
