An 85-year-old man is presently in the custody of the Edo State Police Command for allegedly killing his wife.
The murder suspect, Gabriel Aifuwa, who was paraded alongside other criminal suspects at the command’s headquarters in Benin City, confessed to having macheted his wife over sexual deprivation.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, said the eighty-five-year-old father of five and grandfather of fifteen, Gabriel Aifuwa, admitted to killing his seventy-year-old wife, Grace Aifuwa, over her refusal to perform her conjugal duties.
This is even as he accused her of infidelity, among other things, including denying him access to their grown-up children.
The accused said he nursed the grievances for several years and decided on Saturday to snuff life out of her with a machete at their residence in Benin City.
