Abia State Government has commenced mass community testing for Corona Virus.
The test is aimed at containing the spread of the disease at the community level in the state.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who was represented by the Chairman of the Inter Ministerial Committee on Covid 19, at the Umuahia South Local Government headquarters Ubakala, where the event kicked off, said that the exercise demands maximum support from Abia residents.
He noted that Abia State is the first in the South East zone to embark on the mass community testing against covid-19.

The Commissioner for Health, Joe Osuji, said that the ministry has trained frontline contact tracers with the aim of carrying out the massive sampling and testing with a target of 10,000 samples across the 17 Local Government Areas in the state.
