The Distribution of the palliatives began in Osun state Wednesday with the first ten local governments to benefit receiving their share of the rice palliative donated by the Federal government before onward distribution to other groups in the areas.

There was heavy security presence to ensure a smooth process.

To ease the distribution process and for accountability, the committee set up by the state government for this task had earlier adopted a template for the process and it is being monitored by various stakeholders.

6,300 bags of rice will be distributed to 372 beneficiaries and groups across the 332 wards in the state

The spokesperson to governor Adeleke, Olawale Rasheed who explained that the second tranche of the palliatives from the Federal government is still being expected, says the state government will soon roll out its palliatives

The distribution exercise will last for 3 days as 10 local governments are expected per day
